How you should be able to use this website

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this site. That means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without text spilling off the screen
  • navigate the whole site using a keyboard alone
  • navigate the site using speech recognition software
  • listen to the site using a screen reader

We have also tried to keep the language on this site as plain as the subject allows.

How accessible this website is

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, because of the non-compliances listed below. The following have been checked and meet the standard across every page:

  • You can operate the whole site with a keyboard alone, including the main navigation menu.
  • Text and interface colours meet the AA contrast minimum on every page.
  • Every link, button and form control has a name that assistive technology can read out.
  • Interactive controls are at least 24 by 24 pixels, so they are easier to hit accurately.
  • Pages reflow to a 320 pixel screen without horizontal scrolling, and tolerate increased text and line spacing.
  • Each page has its own descriptive title and an unbroken heading structure.

Non-accessible content

The content below is not yet accessible, for the reasons given.

  • The background video on the home page carries only automatically generated captions. These are not accurate enough, and carry no speaker identification or non-speech sound, so they do not meet success criterion 1.2.2 Captions (Prerecorded).
  • The same video has no audio description and no equivalent text alternative, which does not meet success criteria 1.2.3 Audio Description or Media Alternative, and 1.2.5 Audio Description.

We are commissioning human-authored captions and a described alternative for this video. The site is already built to display accurate captions as soon as they exist.

What we are doing to improve accessibility

  • Commissioning accurate captions and an audio-described version of the home page video.
  • Arranging screen reader testing on NVDA and VoiceOver, including a session with a screen reader user.
  • Adding automated accessibility and colour contrast checks to our build, so that regressions are caught before release rather than after.
  • Adding a skip link to the start of each page's main content.

Feedback and contact information

If you find a problem that is not listed on this page, or you need something on this site in a different format — such as accessible PDF, large print, easy read, audio recording or braille — please tell us.

Including the address of the page and a short description of what went wrong helps us reproduce the problem quickly.

Technical information about this website's accessibility

World Boccia is committed to making this website accessible in line with EN 301 549 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2, level AA.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 3 September 2026. The website was last tested on 2 September 2026 against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard. All sixteen pages were tested, by self-assessment, using automated checks and manual keyboard testing.

We have not yet tested this site with assistive technology, or with disabled people using it for real tasks. That kind of testing reliably finds barriers that automated checks do not, so there are likely to be problems here we have not yet identified — reports of those are especially welcome. We will review this statement when the items above are resolved, and at least once a year.
